English CEGEPS in Montreal
There are a few English speaking cegeps in Montreal. To apply, visit each cegep’s human resource website or contact
them for more information. All of the cegeps accept online applications. It is not recommended to go in person or send
your CV through channels other than what is indicated on the website.
Minimum Requirements
Each cegep determines its own requirements for teaching position. In general, cegeps do not require an applicant to have
a teaching permit. The generally accepted rule with respect to minimum requirements is a master’s degree for most
disciplines that will be taught, although some cegeps may require a doctorate degree for some disciplines (i.e.
Mathematics) or only doctorate bachelor’s degree for certain disciplines (i.e. Physical Education). Any cegep may enhance
its criteria accordance with its capacity to recruit candidates to fill a specific position. In general, the recruiting periods
for winter session is November-December and for fall session is May-June, but it’s a good idea to check back in early
August for last minute hiring.
